It can be a struggle having to get up and was your hair every. Single. Morning. If youre a full time worker, you probably rely on dry shampoo to be your saviour every second day. However, there are some nifty home remedies so you don’t break the bank but battle the grease!
Greasy hair is obviously caused by excess oil in your scalp, but what day to day situations could be causing this over production? Aside from the obvious increase in temperature.
Stress and Hormones can have a massive impact on your scalp, if youre on birth control like the pill this will have an affect also. The change in your hormone levels can encourage excess sebum production, leaving you with excess oil on your skin and scalp. This may also lead to breakouts so its worth keeping an eye on.
The wrong shampoo and over using shampoo can cause a lot of issues with your scalps oil production, so be sure youre using the right one! Your hairdresser may be able to help you find the right one for you. Also using serums for shine in you hair can actually just add oil you don’t need to your hair! Conditoner through the ends of the hair might be all you need.
Last but not least, you might be touching your hair too much! The oil in your hands will be transferring directly into your scalp so try and not touch it once its all styled… though we know that’s hard!
Rectifying oily hair is easier than you think and you might not need to be buying expensive shampoos and treatments to do it.
Aloe Vera is natures catch all treatment for so many ailments, its an antioxident and a cleanser than can remove excess oils. Applying aloe vera and letting it sit for a while before rinsing with warm water could be a solution. Apple Cider Vingegar has similar properties for this, mixing it with water as a hair rinse. Using this rinse three times a week should do a lot to fight this issue.
Egg yolks provide the scalp with healthy cholesterol and nutrients that encourage healthy hair. It also gives the hair healthy oils that work to reduce the excretions of more oil. All you have to do is separate the yolk from the egg white and apply on damp hair. Leave it for fifteen minutes and later rinse with warm water.
Maintaining a healthy diet and staying hydrated with water is also a key component to having a healthy body in all senses, avoiding greasy foods and focusing on nutritious food will offer you a great improvement both mentally and physically.
We hope this helped and that you find something you’re keen to try!
