How to Hide Your Hangover

It’s the festive season. Christmas parties and New Years parties are going to take a toll on you. So how to you hide your hangover?
Christmas lunches and dinners that turn into nights out often happen mid week. So it’s likely that you’ll have to drag yourself into the office the next morning and suffer. If you’re party is on a Friday then lucky you! You might still find these tips useful though.
The usual hangover cure involves lots of water, lots of carbs and even more being horizontal. If you don’t have the option of ordering food in and lounging around feeling sorry for yourself, you’ll want to liven up your skin. It can be easy to pretend you’re feeling fine but you cannot prevent your hangover from showing on your skin. So here’s how to hide it.
The first step to being able to hide your hangover is moisturising. Your alcohol-ravaged skin needs hydration. If you remembered to remove your make up the night before, bravo. If not, take a clean flannel and soak it in warm water before placing on the face and slowly massaging. Do this a few times to get rid of all the grime. Remove eye make up with an oil-based remover to nourish the lashes. Then take some time to massage a generous blob of rich moisturiser into your skin.
After a good moisture-massage your face should be looking plumper and hydrated. It’s still going to need some help to look alive so a face primer is a must. It will smooth the skin making it ready for foundation application. You can’t hide your hangover without foundation after all.
Choose the right foundation.
Invest in a hydrating, youth-boosting foundation for skin that looks like it had 8 hours sleep. Pick a foundation that promises you a dewey glow. This will make the skin look healthy and hydrated. Obviously, it’s best to invest in this sooner rather than later. Don’t forget to add some blush as well!
Focus on the lips.
Your lips can look chapped and pale after a night of drinking. One of the best ways to hide your hangover is distract with your lips. Try a statement red lipstick. Choose a shade with cool blue undertones to help calm the skin. Another (and slightly grosser) sign is sour alcoholic breath. Yes, you scrubbed your teeth this morning but booze can make a very unwelcome return throughout the day. Go for a minty gloss for added freshness.
Before you do all of that, make sure you’ve woken yourself up with a big, cold glass of water and a shower. This will immediately make you feel more alert and a lot cleaner. Try some dry shampoo to give volume if you don’t have enough time to wash your hair.
