Thursday, July 28th, 2016
Beautiful Brows will be giving UK professionals the chance to learn microblading!
The beginner’s course will be aimed at teaching beauty industry workers this fast growing trend, if you don’t know what it is you can read our blog on it HERE.
Microblading is fast becoming the semi-permanent make up choice for perfect brows and it’s no wonder why, considering the benefits it gives. If you’re looking to expand your salon business then this could very well be the way forward.
With three locations for the masterclass it’s sure to be a far-reaching educational tour for the established beauty brand. Should you attend this 4-day intensive course, educators, who have also been trained by world-class masters and have13 years of experience behind them, will teach you.
The course will also include an additional course by Actfast, the only legal topical anaesthetic training provider in the UK. Anaesthetic is still a medical process and therefore learning the proper way to apply it to your customers for a procedure like microblading is crucial. It will also include: Microblading tool and blade angle, Brow formation on synthetic skin, Golden Ratio, Face shapes, Eye shapes, How to measure the eyebrow, How to use the eyebrow measuring tool, Hair strokes on synthetic skin, Practice strokes on each other, How to take the perfect picture, Colour theory, Organic/non organic pigments, Fitzpatrick Skin tone, Pigment theory, Durability of colour, Contraindications and Contra-actions.
Beautiful Brows products are all fully regulated and safe for use. The full course will cost £2,000 + VAT and will include a full Beautiful Brows microblading kit. The three locations will be Glasgow, Liverpool and London.
Glasgow – 21st – 24th of August
Liverpool – 4th – 7th of September
London – 16th – 19th of October
We spoke to Beautiful Brows Scottish Ambassador Chris Christoforou about the evolution of microblading:
“Over the last 3 to 4 years especially it’s become a lot more popular. Europe took it up first and compared to semi permanent make up you can get a much crisper and more defined look. It’s done by hand and if you get a nice cure with it, it looks amazing. It’s a very sought after treatment by consumers.”
He went on to talk about whom the course would benefit:
“Not only people who do semi permanent make up but also people who do lashes and do nails because its very intricate work they do and we think they’d be very good at, so we’ve aimed it for them as well as people who want to learn how to microblade professionally.”

David Zhang To Do More UK Masterclasses
Wednesday, June 15th, 2016
David Zhang returns to UK for microblading masterclasses.
Following the success of his last visit, eyebrow extraordinaire, David Zhang makes his return to host a series of microblading masterclasses.
If you’re not familiar with microblading (you can read our previous blog on it here) it is a semi permanent make up solution for eyebrows. A small pen-like tool with tiny needles is used to create individual strokes under the eyebrow hair. This gives the illusion of natural hair strands to build thicker looking brows that last for around three years.
Microblading is referred to as ‘eyebrow embroidery’ in Asia, where Zhang hails from and he founded his brand David Brow Art in 1992. During his 24 years working with brows, he has trained 16,000 students, been World Champion in eyebrow beauty competitions twice and is now the leading expert and a judge for the Microblading Expert Panel at the World Microblading Conference.
He has also honed his skills and techniques; including strokes he invented himself, the 6D stroke and the PPL stroke (Press Push Lift). His secrets will be divulged at his 2-day training courses in July. The courses are being promoted by Beautiful Brows and are only suitable for people with professional training in semi permanent make up and/or microblading, as the aim is to help them improve on their trade and skills.
The course will include; brow symmetry, method pros and cons, eyebrow shape vs. face shape, eyebrow design, techniques for eyebrow pencil on human skin and a full David Zhang starter kit. The second day will allow you to recap on what you’ve learned and will also include a Q&A segment with David Zhang.
The courses will be held in Glasgow and Liverpool. With the dates on the 5th and 6th (Glasgow) and the 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th (Liverpool).
This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals to build on a solid base they have created themselves. We spoke to Chris Christoforou, the Scottish Ambassador for Beautiful Brows, and he said:
“He’s back by popular demand, he was sought after in the UK, especially after last time. I think this might be the last masterclass or visit to the UK he has this year; he’s so in demand. If you’re already working in semi permanent make up or microblading, this masterclass will take you to the next level.”
Don’t miss out on this chance to work with a world famous eyebrow artist, call or email beautiful brows for more information on booking!

Microblading: What is it?
Friday, May 20th, 2016
Microblading is the new way to get perfect eyebrows.
Eyebrows are arguably the most important facial feature, no matter how you like them; arched and feathered or straight and bold.
If you’re not satisfied with the ones you have, there are so many ways to update them (some of which we have covered here), including brow gel, pencils, and even tattooing. But now there’s a very natural option that delivers semi-permanent results. You’ve maybe heard of microblading before. Unlike the sometimes Sharpie-like effects of permanent makeup, microblading is more of fake solution done in strokes that look just like real hairs.
Jade Trapanotto, founder of Beyond the Brows says:
“It puts the finest hairs back into eyebrows producing the best definition and dimension possible”,
“It originated in Asia and is also known as brow embroidery. It’s a fantastic treatment for anyone looking to improve or enhance the appearance of their eyebrows.”
The main difference is that a manual pen-like tool with tiny needles is used instead of a permanent makeup machine, so the strokes aren’t blurry. If you’re still not sure how the technique differs from tattooing, keep listening. During the microblading process a special microblading pen is used to draw on individual strokes one by one. It’s an extremely meticulous process that takes around two hours to complete.
Since the results will last for up to three years before beginning to fade it’s good to know that the technicians pay so much attention to detail. The first hour the shape is drawn in with removable pencil. That’s the longest part and the most important step. During this time, the best customized shape for every client is chosen. Professional microbladers advise clients to be cautious of places that claim to complete the process in one hour. This is not a rushed procedure and it cannot be done in an hour. Anaesthetic will be applied to the area to avoid discomfort, although the procedure shouldn’t be painful.
One of the best parts of this technique is that your brows are good to go immediately after application. Professionals, however, recommend a follow-up one-month after your appointment. The healing process is different for everyone, and it takes between 25 and 30 days. After a month it is recommended a client should have a 40-minute touch-up. After they have been done there is little to no maintenance. They will not rub off and they won’t smudge. Microblading typically costs around $700 to $800, so £480 to £550 here in the UK, but it will give you prefect brows every morning.
